Becoming a ski patrol is a great way to ensure that you are going to get out and ski or snowboard at least 15 to 20 times per season.
Great Friends
Patrollers who have been involved with the CSPS for any length of time all say the same thing – the best part of ski patrol is the friends you make. TheĀ sense of camaraderie you will share with your fellow-ski patrollers makes them feel like family.
Free Lift Tickets & Passes
You will not pay for your lift tickets when you are patrolling. This is true at Hidden Valley and also at other resorts across Canada that have CSPS patrollers. You can travel to those resorts and ski for free.
The first three years that you patrol at Hidden Valley you will receive 2 free passes each year for your friends and family to use. In the 4th and 5th year your family will receive a half price season pass. In your 6th year and thereafter your family will receive a free season pass.
Discounts
Ski patrol receive discounts in the pro shop and the cafeteria.
Advanced First Aid Skills
The First Aid skills that you learn in your training are WSIB recognized Advanced First Aid Skills. These are skills that will leave you feeling empowered to deal with emergency situations on and off the ski hill.
Family Time
Family members who are not ski patrollers themselves are always welcomed into the ski patrol hut. The whole family is welcome to leave their skis there and use it as a base for lunch and snacks.
